Louise (Wesley) Swan of Harrisburg, age 93, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021, in Springfield, Missouri.

     Louise was born on May 18, 1927, to the late Cloid and Estella (Farmer) Wesley in Raleigh.  She married Quentin Swan on April 17, 1948 and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1994. Louise loved attending church. She was a long time member of McKinley Ave. Baptist. Her passion was foreign missions, inspired by her sister and brother-in-law Lotella and Philip Cole, who were foreign missionaries for many years.  Louise prayed for each of her family members every day. Her hobbies included sewing and crocheting. Louise loved children, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

     Louise is survived by her grandchildren, Amy Tyndall and husband Keith of Brookline, Missouri, and David McKinstry and wife Lindsay of Front Royal, Virginia. Her great grandchildren are Lydia and Luke Tyndall, and Caleb, Hadley, Reid, Isaac, and Sawyer McKinstry. Also surviving are her son-in-law Wayne McKinstry, nephew Charles Hammond, brother-in-law Phillip Cole, and several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by her daughter Shirley McKinstry, sister Lois Hammond, and sister Lotella Cole.

     Funeral services for Louise Swan will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Reed Funeral Chapel.  Rev. Ron Reed will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 10 AM at Reed Funeral Chapel.  Memorial contributions may be made to International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention ( and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
