This is what Wayne was told about his ancestry: His father, Robert McKinstry was 100% Scotch-Irish, from Belfast. Looking at all the Scotch and Irish on the map, there are no surprises there. His mother, June (Mills) McKinstry was mostly English, with some French and maybe a little Dutch. The English is certainly on the DNA map, as well as the Dutch. The absence of any great amount of French territory is a mystery. June certainly had French ancestory, notably with Horace Boudinot Wilson and his mother Susan Boudinot. Perhaps there were French people living in what is now Germany or some other country. |
