Parks I Visited in Highlands Ranch

In general, each park had one entrance for cars but had walking paths
leading into it from neighborhoods all around the park.

Houses seemed to be built on higher ground
and the parks on lower or uneven ground.

Highland Heritage Regional Park

I followed a path around this park, which mainly consisted of soccer fields.  Dogs weren't allowed
on the soccer fields, so there was a small dog park
at one side.

Northridge Park

This park was huge.  There was a developed area at one end.

This tree and this light pole
were near the parking area.

It had a playground, football field, and baseball fields with picnic areas nearby.

The rest of the park seemed to be undeveloped wilderness area.

There were many hills and valleys,
and this seemed to be a canyon.

The bushes and trees seemed a little different
from what we have in Illinois.

Just beyond this tree is a crossroads in the path.  Some
paths led to neighborhoods and some back into the park.

Near this pretty area in the stream a bridge was
being replaced as an Eagle Scout project.

Willow Creek Park

I visited this park the day after the snowstorm.
It was much warmer than the previous day,
but the walking paths were pretty icy and muddy.

These two pictures show Willow Creek,
which ran through the park.

I learned that there was a Willow Creek Trail, which ran along the creek inside and outside the park.
It was too messy that day to walk a lot, but if I ever return, I would like to check out the trail further.
