Hilliard, Ohio - January 2007

Hilliard is a suburb of Columbus.  I flew to Dayton and then drove to the Columbus area.

Ohio State University

Columbus is the home of Ohio State University.
While I was there, everyone was excited because the Buckeyes
were about to play a Bowl Championship Series game in Arizona.

A very interesting bridge on campus where
Lane Avenue crosses the Olentangy River

Griggs Reservoir Park

The Scioto River also runs through Columbus.
The Griggs Dam turns part of the river into the Griggs Reservoir.
Griggs Reservoir Park is a long skinny park running along next to the river.

Ducks and geese swim in the river

The structures in the park seem to have
been there quite a while

There were large houses
on the other side of the river

The Gardens at Gantz Farm

This is a neighborhood park in Grove City.
Since it was January, I wasn't able to see any
of the flowers and gardens, but here is what I did see.

There were several birdhouses scattered through the area.
I could hear birds chirping in the brush.

There was a stream with two bridges crossing over it.
Here are the bridges and a view of the stream from each.
The stream made a nice gurgling sound.
