Funeral
services for Tyra Alex Mills, 83, of Farrington township will be held
Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Garrison Temple church, of which he was a
member.
The Rev. John Beck will officiate and burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Richardson Chapel in Wayne City, where friends may call after 3:00 p.m. today. Mr. Mills, a retired farmer, died at 5:00 a.m. Thursday at his home in northeastern Jefferson county, on RFD, Keenes. He was born November 7, 1881 in Wayne county, the son of George E. and Nancy (Alvis) Mills. On December 8, 1907 he was married to Cora R. Wilson, who survives. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Marvin Mills of Keenes; two daughters, Mrs. Reba Byars of Keenes and Mrs. Mildred June McKinstry of Pinckneyville; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Cornstubble of Mr. Vernon and Mrs. Nettie Burkitt of Fairfield; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. |
