Highlands Ranch, Colorado - October 2006

The Airport

I flew in and out of the Denver airport.

The Town

Highlands Ranch is a planned community
just south of Denver.

Here are some houses and a tower
in a "town center" (shopping area).

The Rocky Mountains were visible mainly to the west.

Where I Stayed

The people at this hotel were very nice and thoughtful.
They even made me the guest of the day!
Here are a view of the mountains from the parking lot
and a view of a tree from my window.

Where I Worked

The building where I worked was
the middle one of three large
identical buildings.

The parking lot offered a good view
of the mountains.

The Snowstorm

After I had been there two days,
Colorado had a big snowstorm
and the Denver area got some of it.

The tree outside my hotel window
had snow all over it.

The sky was very cloudy, and the
mountains had more snow on them.

Later in the day a lot of it melted.

The weather seemed to change quickly in the Denver area.
The day before it snowed, people were outside in shirtsleeves.
The day after the storm, it was warm again.
